The water is very important.

We set out to discover the purest water available. Vodka is 60% water and pure water not only simply tastes great but provides a neutral base to carry the flavor of the alcohol itself. We needed the BEST water and we found just that from the artesian springs located in Eldorado Springs, Colorado (just outside Boulder, Colorado) that emanates the purest water from one of the most unique water sources in the world. This spring water originates as rain and snow just east of the Continental Divide. From there, it enters an aquifer that passes 8,000 feet deep beneath Eldorado Springs.

An immense, natural artesian spring pressure forces the water (which has been tested and found to be 6,000 years old) through a layer of sandstone up to the surface in Eldorado Springs, creating a natural filtering system. Protecting the source from all other ground waters is a thick layer of clay just above the sandstone that is impervious to groundwater. Contributing further to the purity of Eldorado Springs is the fact that it is surrounded by hundreds of acres of local, state and federal parkland.
All these factors contribute to the water source we use to make our vodka as being renowned as one of the purest, natural springs in the world and judged to be the best-tasting water in North America.

The Springs remain a constant 76° F year-round and maintain a constant flow, assuring a consistent and true source. The water we use in Après Ski Vodka is pure, clean, and healthy spring water that is low in total dissolved solids. Most importantly, our water is not chemically treated in any way and the location and unique geological environment of our source ensures consistently pure water.

2X CHARCOAL FILTERED

The final step in our vodka-making process is our charcoal filtration process. We push our vodka twice through an extensive filtration process which removes any impurities by using charcoal which is activated stone carbon. Our process itself could be considered an aggressive filtration or polishing technique that provides and contributes to the smoothness and lightness of Après Ski Vodka.
